Interceptive Orthodontics

Interceptive Orthodontics

Did you know that early recognition of developing bite and jaw problems and the potential for uncomplicated orthodontic treatment procedures can minimize or eliminate future costly treatment in children? Newmarket dentist Dr. Saeed Meshksar, has completed post-graduate training to diagnose and treat orthodontic problems in children. Interceptive orthodontics treatment consists of space maintenance, cross bite correction and arch expansion in children before or after eruption of permanent teeth.

The early treatment examination in the mixed dentition enables Dr. Meshksar to identify problems at an early stage, and to determine when to commence treatment and/or refer patients to an orthodontist. The things he looks for during a mixed dentition examination include crowding of permanent teeth, excessive over-jet or overbite, missing primary teeth needed for space maintenance, supernumerary teeth, skeletal discrepancies, habits, airway problems, and eruption path problems.

Orthodontic Issues

Dr. Saeed Meshksar at Eagle Family Dentistry believes that it is important to have a clear picture of how your child is changing dentally and skeletally throughout his or her growth period.

In fact the American Association of Orthodontists recommends that every child have an orthodontic examination by the age of seven.

Braces For Teens & Adults

Braces for Teens/Adults

Why Might Your Child Need Braces?

Braces are often recommended by Newmarket dentist, Dr. Saeed Meshksar, to help correct bite, crowding/spacing, impacted teeth and other potential complications that are best suited for orthodontic care. While braces are often used for structural or cosmetic reasons, the confidence that braces treatment provides in the long-run is invaluable to both teens and adults. We want your child (and you) to be able to smile with confidence and pride – something that a corrected smile brings to each braces patient.

Are Braces Just For Kids?

Absolutely not! If you’re reading this with your child in mind but are also interested in adult braces or alternative orthodontic treatments, lets talk! At Eagle Family Dentistry, we offer various types of braces to suit the needs and lifestyle choices of our patients.

People Of Any Age Can Benefit From Orthodontic Treatment:

Orthodontic treatment not only improves the look of your smile but your health as well.

Teeth that are crooked, crowded, or that stick out affect the way your teeth look and work.

Straight teeth are easier to clean and less likely to get tooth decay or injured.

If you are not happy with the way your teeth look or work, orthodontic treatment may help.
